Memphis Packing | Fraternity Formal Trip

Well, it is the most wonderful time of the year… Fraternity Formals! This year as I mentioned earlier this week we are headed to Memphis, TN. I have only been there once to visit the St. Jude’s Hospital when I was in high school so I am excited to go again and explore more of the things that Houston has to offer!

We have received a few tips on places to go and sites to see so Ryder and I are both excited! Then tomorrow night we will be headed to the venue where the formal will be held! Of course, I will have my camera with me all weekend so check out my Instagram and Snapchat for updates on what we are doing, then check back here next week for a blog review of Memphis!

The luggage that is linked is very similar to mine but mine is actually Jon Hart! Jon Hart is special ordered from their website or a retailer in your area. I got mine for graduation my senior year of high school and it was the absolute best money my parents ever spent! I use it for every weekend trip and they have held up so nicely!

I hope everyone has a fun weekend planned! I can’t wait to show y’all my outfit for Saturday night!

Embroidered Linen Top | OOTD

This season the hot trend is off the shoulder tops and I couldn’t be happier! I love the way that they flow and how flattering they are for all body types. I got this outfit at Skye on the Town in Fayetteville, I feel like I am there all the time! But honestly, Kristi is the sweetest person ever so who wouldn’t want to go shop at her store?! Stop by if you’re local to NWA if not you can shop this look from the links above!

Today I am actually on the road headed for Memphis! Stay up to date with my fun travels on my Snapchat or Instagram page @alexa_mclain. You can also follow for blog post updates or subscribe on the sidebar for email updates of when I post new posts!

Stay tuned for a packing post of what I packed for this weekend! I hope everyone has some fun plans! If not, get outside and enjoy the weather. Spring is my favorite time of year!

Colorful Camo | OOTD

TOP/bottom/purse (similar)/shoes

One thing that originally drew me to this top was the color. Camo print is making a comeback and I loved the way this shirt incorporated the colors of Spring and the print. I chose this outfit for a lazy day around town just because I wasn’t feeling up for being too fancy and the weather was super humid and hot! (Typical Arkansas)

To get the exact look call my girls over at Skye on the Town in Fayetteville, AR!

Just an update on what’s happening in my life! I am currently getting ready to travel to Memphis for my boyfriend’s fraternity formal! I can’t wait to show y’all what I’m wearing I absolutely love it! I am also slowly packing up my room to move out of the sorority house. This is fun and bittersweet I have lived there for the last two years which is one year more than most people live there, but I have made the greatest memories. We are currently going through a transition period as we get new furniture and our expansion of our house is being finished so walking around the house knowing that my room won’t be there anymore and that everything will change is a lot to take in.

Stay tuned for a post on the secrets of living in a sorority house!

Formal Dresses Under $100

Formal Season is officially upon us! I have found some adorable dresses under $100 that won’t break the bank! All of these are perfect for any look you’re going for this season and you could even wear them over for future events!

I’m so excited for formal season because my boyfriend’s formal is in Memphis this year! I have only been to Memphis once, to tour the St. Jude Hospital, but now we will get to go and experience the other great things Memphis has to offer!

OOTD | Date Night at Chuy’s

Top (similar)/Jeans/Shoes (similar)/Bag

Earlier this week my boyfriend and I got to have a quick date night at one of our favorite places: Chuy’s! We absolutely love the Stacked Blue Corn Enchiladas and we split it every single time. I always leave feeling full but not too full! I also love the Jalapeno Ranch Dip that they serve! I could take a gallon home if they would let me.

I hope everyone has an exciting weekend planned! Tomorrow is Row night for KA at the University of Arkansas so I’ll be at a rap concert! I’m not really one for rap concerts but it’s Row so I have to make an exception at least once a year!

Happy Thursday Everyone!

Easter Outfit | Fancy

dress/shoes (similar)/bracelet

Pink is a classic color and so is this dress! With a crisscross back and a high neck line it is the perfect blend of trendy and conservative for your traditional Easter service or brunch at the country club!

Just a tip about the shoes, if you decide to order them go ahead and order a half size up! You’ll be grateful that you did!

**If you’re a local of Fayetteville you can find this dress in-store at Skye on the Town or check out their website for more great Spring dresses this season here!

Easter Outfit | Casual

dress (Similar)/shoes/bracelet

Easter is almost upon us which means it is time for dresses! This dress is so so comfortable I absolutely love it! Not only is it easy to wear, but you don’t feel constricted at all which is great for those big Easter lunches. I don’t know about your family, but it is almost a competition to see who can eat the most each year. (I always lose and pass out on the couch.) This dress is also super functional if you want to partake in the Easter egg hunting festivities!

Another thing to start thinking about is graduations! My senior year the dress I bought for Easter I also wore to graduation because I loved it so much! This dress would be great for an outdoor graduation because it is nice and breezy!

Stay tuned this week for more dressy Easter looks and even a look for in between casual and dressy!

** If you’re local to Fayetteville, AR you can find this dress at Skye on the Town located on College Ave! Check out their website for more fun dresses this Spring here!
